Shaken Margarita

Technique: Energetic shaking properly chills the cocktail while incorporating citrus juice and creating a light, frothy texture.

Tutorial:

  1. Add 2 oz tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and ½ oz orange liqueur to a shaker
  2. If using, add ¼-½ oz agave syrup or simple syrup
  3. Fill the shaker ¾ full with ice cubes
  4. Secure the top and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds
  5. Hold the shaker with both hands and shake with purpose—good shaking involves your entire upper body
  6. The outside of the shaker should become frosty and cold to the touch
  7. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass with a salt rim (optional)
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel
